The main aim of it is to give the best dictionary for all the major languages around the world.

It is considered the biggest online dictionary, because of the 6000 languages in it. There are 2,000,000,000 translations with 400,000 recordings.

How does Glosbe work?

When I opened up the official website, there was a search bar in it. I could change the base and the translated language on my own. As I was looking for Spanish translation itself, I did not need to change the targeted language. However, when I was practicing Korean, I had to change it. When it is done, just write the word or the sentence and get the translations.

To my surprise, it not only gives the translation but also shows how to use it in different scenarios. There are a lot of examples showing how to use them. Not only this, at the left side of the page there are words or sentences related to the specific things I have searched. I have shown two different examples below to make more clearer-

Example 1: Chocolates

In the search option, I added the word chocolates. On the left side of it, you will see there are many related terms like Chocolaty, Chocontâ, etc.

Alternatives of Glosbe

It is very common to not like this app due to some wrong translation. Thus, I am sharing some alternatives to get the best dictionary apps to learn vocabulary-

1. Memrise

Memrise is a well-known platform in the world of learning a new language. There is a special phrasebook on it. However, the languages are less than the Glosbe dictionary. But it can really help in getting the right translations. Also, if a word or phrase is not there, it will share the related one. For example, I searched ‘How are you?’ on it. But it gave me the translation of ‘How are you doing?’. Both questions are referred to in the same manner.

2. LingoDeer

Despite producing courses to learn the language, this platform is well known for providing a travel Phrasebook. There are several words covered on it. It can be a useful tool for anyone who wants to travel to a new place.

3. Google translator

Google Translate is a tool that can be easily used. All you have to search for the translation directly on Google. This is the most useful tool online. It is very easy to search the words on it. If you cannot find any good online dictionary, this is the best tool for you.
