What is SamCart?

The SamCart platform was founded in 2013 by Brian Moran and Scott Moran, and has been around ever since (in online years). The best online shopping cart and constantly improving, SamCart has an army of loyal customers.

SaaS juggernaut allows users to create beautiful checkout pages in half an hour, regardless of whether they are selling digital or physical goods. SamCart checkout pages can be part of your sales pages (known as the 1-page funnel).

SamCart Features

SamCart has all the features you would expect from a shopping cart. 

In this section, I’ve fired up SamCart and we’ll cover the standard features of the Launch and Grow plans (plans that will be explained in the upcoming section on pricing).

I plan to discuss how SamCart compared with its main rival, ThriveCart, and what I liked and disliked.

In the next section, we’ll discuss advanced SamCart features.

Payment Gateways

One of the first things you’ll need to do when setting up this shopping cart is set up your payment gateways with Stripe (for credit card purchases) or PayPal.

Stripe and PayPal are admittedly two of the most popular online payment processors.

This left me scratching my head a bit because ThriveCart (which is considered SamCart’s main competitor) offers and Braintree for credit card processing. And it’s only been around for a few years.

SamCart is a little different from ThriveCart and its other competitors because of its detailed payment structure product flexibility. Additionally, they offer granular billing frequency settings.

High Converting Checkout Templates


The goal of your checkout process should be to reduce bounce rates and improve conversions.

SamCart offers 18 checkout templates tested for conversion rates in its template library. A perfect example would be the infamous “One Page Funnel” product page template (an internet marketing strategy popularized by Brian Moran). As well as their embeddable and popup checkout pages.

Split Tests

A good online shopping cart must have the ability to run A/B tests. You can increase conversions over time when you know which shopping cart variation works best through testing.

In the Advanced Settings tab, you can easily create SamCart split tests. During the checkout process, you will be asked for the name of the new variation. Once this is set, you can click on the variation you want to edit the settings for.

Order Bumps, Upsells & Coupons


SamCart’s value proposition is that you can easily maximize profits and increase customer lifetime value with their shopping cart software.

This section is about how their features help people make the most of every sale with SamCart (without being a web developer).

Let’s start with bump offers (which can be used on either physical or digital items). These quick offers have a high conversion rate in my experience!

You can add a bump offer to your checkout page by going to the Upsells tab. However, you must have an existing product in your account to add an offer, you must have an existing product in your account.

In the case of bump offers, they inherit the price of the added product. Obviously there is an extra step involved if you need to adjust the price of the product you want to bump.

In any case, SamCart’s bumps look great!

Let’s talk about one-click upsells. Your sale can undoubtedly be increased by adding upsells.

The great thing about this feature is that it can be used on the backend of your store, so you don’t have to be there to sell your product(s). 

It’s a much better solution than having to stick around all day and sell your product (which is not very efficient).

The only problem with this feature is that you have to make sure everything is set up correctly first. 

You can’t just set it up and forget it. You have to do your best to make sure everything lines up in order for your customers to see the offers.

To top it off, SamCart also has discounts and coupons! If you are creating a coupon on the product dashboard, you don’t have anything to worry about as long as the “Allow Coupons” toggle is switched on.

Once you have decided on your coupon code, you can also set the following:

  • Coupon Duration (applied once or recurring).
  • Coupon description
  • Coupon type (percentage or Flat Rate)
  • Coupon Discount Amount

After you have configured these settings, you will be prompted to apply them to a product. 

SamCart makes it easy to add discount codes, and you can set up multiple codes at once!

Samcart Autoresopnder Integrations

Samcart offers integrations with most popular marketing services such as Infusionsoft, Aweber, GetResponse, MailChimp, Constant Contact and others. 

This means that you can connect your autoresponder account with Samcart and automatically publish new leads to it.

The integrations allow Samcart users to create awesome sales funnels in less than five minutes without headaches. The most popular integrations will be presented on the apps main page.

Samcart will also give users a chance to use some of the most popular integrations right after the sign up (currently those integrations are Infusionsoft and ActiveCampaign) and there is a possibility to try out other integrations for free during 14 days.

Samcart Membership Integrations

SamCart has stepped up its game with membership site integrations. Previously, only four membership sites were supported. They recently added three more. As it stands, membership site integrations are difficult for online shopping carts.
