What are the Duolingo Challenges?

Duolingo challenges are part of the daily lessons that you need to take up in a course. Taking part in these challenges not only helped me to know where I stand but also helped me earn rewards like Duolingo gems and streak scores. According to the latest update, there are three types of challenges – Daily Quests, Friend Quests, and Monthly challenges. You can not take up these challenges offline. Further, we have discussed all the three categories one by one for your better understanding-

1. Daily Quests

Daily Quests were first included in Duolingo in 2022. There are generally three daily challenges on Duolingo. If you are a person who wants to earn more gems in a day, just like me then you should complete all of them. This set of three challenges is known as Quest. Following are the common daily challenges that you can expect to take up.

Except for the above, there are many other daily challenges that you can take up.

2. Friends Quests

All Duolingo Challenges Explained (+ How To Complete Them Quickly?)

Friend quests are again the same as the Daily Quests and were first introduced between May and June of 2022. In this type of quest, you again will be doing different tasks but not alone. Why is it an interesting feature? It is because you will follow other users and become friends with them.

Due to this feature, I made new friends from the platform. It also helped me earn a lot of gems and XP scores. Duolingo will pick up a random friend with whom you will complete these challenges. Always remember that you can not choose the person with whom you want to complete the task. Duolingo will randomly select a friend each week.

As in such tasks, two people are included, both of you should cooperate and try to complete the tasks by dividing the burden. Suppose you get the task of completing 20 lessons in 5 days, you can divide them among yourself. You can ask them to complete 10 lessons and you should do the rest 10.

3. Monthly Challenges

There are three main problems with these monthly challenges-

  • You will get the usual 1000 XP challenges
  • Some new challenges are there with which you can complete a certain number of quests
  • Some people are not getting any challenges at all.

Earlier the monthly challenges were the usual 1000 XP challenges. In these challenges, you were required to earn 1000 XP points in the month. These monthly challenges depend upon the languages available on the platform. So if you could get these 1000 XP points before the month ends, you get an exclusive budget for it. Currently, these challenges are a mix of either earning XP points or completing specific quests. Every monthly challenge has a name for it. Each of the names is based on the Duolingo characters.

How to Complete Duolingo Challenges?

Completing a challenge always gives a good feeling. Thus, you may want to complete the Duolingo challenges faster. Here are some ways by which you can complete them more quickly-

  • Try to check for the Challenges after some duration. This will help you to know which upcoming challenges are for you.
  • If you are participating in Friends quests, make sure that you are working cooperatively. Divide the work equally so that no one feels burdened by it.
  • If you are an Android user, you may get the traditional method of earning 1000 XP to get the monthly challenge.
  • Also always remember that your end goal is to learn the language. Therefore, you must enjoy taking part in it.

Hack: A hack that I used to get a monthly badge for March was, that I did not complete the number of quests required for February. In February, I was asked to complete 30 quests. As I did not complete them, I was asked to complete 25 quests in March. I was then asked to complete 25 quests in March. You could also try this approach and see if it works for you.

How to get your Duolingo Challenges?

When you complete the challenge step by step according to the task requirements and finally receive the reward, the joy in your heart is undoubtedly indescribable. Every challenge is a valuable reward.

When you have completed all the challenges, you might as well try to make special Custom Coins to permanently engrave the joy of this victory. You can print encouraging words on the coin or incorporate reward elements from Duolingo to make it a unique commemoration of your successful challenge. You can also give it to your teammates who fought side by side. It will become a testimony of your common struggle and leave a deep mark on your experience of working together.

Conclusion

Duolingo challenges have always helped me test my understanding. They are basically part of Duolingo’s daily lessons. At present, there are three types of quests that you can take up – Daily quests, Friend quests, and Monthly challenges. These challenges have helped me earn a lot of gems, XPs, and badges. Each of the three challenges is unique in its own way. The Daily quest is based on daily challenges, while the Monthly challenge is based on monthly targets. However, regarding Friend quests, you will need to make new friends for them. When you have more friends, Duolingo will pair you randomly with them for each quest.
