How To Beat Impossible Duolingo Match Madness? (Easy Ways)
Everyone loves a little extra. Imagine going to a restaurant and getting some extra discount. Won’t you love that? Of course yes. Similarly, think, what if you are using a platform to learn a language but it also helps you to test your knowledge? You will enjoy using it. This is what Duolingo does. There are so many challenges including timed challenges on it. By its name, you can understand that you must complete them in a specific period. One such timed challenge that I enjoy a lot is Duolingo Match Madness. They are really tough.
Many believe that it is almost impossible to beat this challenge. Although it is true, but with some little tricks, you can always beat them. I have been using some hacks for a long to complete this challenge. Let me share how I beat this impossible Duolingo match madness.
What is the Duolingo Match Madness?
Match madness is one of the timed challenges you take on Duolingo. Just like, the XP ramp-up challenge, you will have to go to the league tab on Duoling.
Look for the Match Madness icon at the right corner at the end of the page.
Match madness is like the normal exercise – matching the pair but as a hard-timed challenge. In this challenge, I have to match a 90-word pairing in 1 minute and 45 seconds. The reason why it is a great choice to go for is that it offers a 40 XP score which is a good amount.
However, the present update you will be getting is the approach of the XP ramp-up challenge. There are 3 levels, which start with getting 20XP with a 5XP increment. Further, you can earn the maximum number of 60XP. In addition to that, you also need to match 120 words at the last level.
Update: With the recent update of Duolingo, there is a total change in Duolingo match madness. At present, there are 12 levels and each level has 3 rounds. You can earn the highest amount of 150XP and have to pair 160 words. However, the only thing that remains the same is the time duration. However, remember you must pay 30 gems for a single round.
How to beat impossible Duolingo match madness?
Match madness is the toughest timed challenge, especially after the latest update. People are finding it too hard to complete them on time. But not anymore. Following are the tips or easy ways that can help you to beat impossible Duolingo match madness-
1. Do not get confused
Match madness is a tough challenge as you need to match more pairs in less time. When I was playing it,m I was under great pressure. Due to this, I got panic and got myself confused. Of course! I made many mistakes after that. So once you panic, there are high chances of making mistakes and eventually losing the challenge. Therefore you must not get confused and stay calm on the platform. Stay calm and you will understand each word easily.
2. Stay in rhythm
Once you are calm and ready to take the challenge look for the rhythm. When you are in a rhythm, you will get a flow for it. It will help you to find this challenge easier than the other challenges.
3. Slow down
Ok! Being in a time challenge is tough and giving you the advice to slow down may find a useless tip. But trust me, it really works. I tried it myself and was able to get over it. Try to understand that you will make mistakes when you use your hand much faster than the brain. And then of course you will lose the challenge. Thus start by finding out the rhythm first and then increase your speed.
4. Look for the left column
When you are in the challenge, there will words from your native and targeted language. On the left side, there are words from your native language. On the right side, you will get words from your targeted language. What I always do is to, focus on the left side. It helped me to find the words I knew in the targeted language. After that, I match those words that I already know. When I matched them, the pairs were removed from the exercise. With some effort, I matched the remaining pairs.
5. Take breaks
Remember that the clock will stop between the tiers. Once you finish the first tier, don’t go straight into the second tier. Try to take advantage of these short breaks in between.
6. Row blaster
Row blaster is the booster that helps you remove a specific row making it easy to match the words. The time limit for this challenge will remain the same. However, you will only be getting four rows instead of five rows. Undoubtedly, having one fewer row in the challenge makes finding answers easier. Now the main question. Is it free? No, it is not until you use it for the first time.
It means, if you use it for the first time, you may get it for free. Otherwise, you will have to use the gems. The cost for this power-up is 150 gems which is too high. So if you have a lot of extra gems you can think of taking them up. To get it you will again need to go on Match Madness and boost up on the round.
7. Look for similar words in the last row
One of the latest tricks I am using is to see if there are similar words in the last row. If there are the same words, I avoid making them pairs. Now what will happen with it? It will give you only four rows without paying extra gems. Also, try to look at the second last row. If it is also a match, again leave it. Now you will have to deal with only the first three rows which will save a lot of time.
8. Look for similar words in the top row
It is a reversal process of the above step. I love experimenting with Duolingo. So, I did this hack to check if it would save me time. Guess what? It worked. In the above case, you were looking for the last two rows. But here, you will have to start from the top. Again if there are similar words in the top rows, leave them. It will again help eliminate a row and save you time.
Which platforms have Duolingo match madness events?
Match madness was earlier only available for iPhone users only. At that time it was not available for Android or desktop versions. It was because the Duolingo platform usually provides new updates on iPhones and keeps adding new features. At that time other times challenges like Lightning Round or XP ramp-up challenges were on the Android. But, currently, they are available on Androids as well. When you complete the first level and earn some points, go to the next level. However, remember it is still not available on the desktop version.
What are the languages that will have Duolingo Match Madness?
Currently, very few Duolingo languages have Duolingo match madness challenges. You may want to know them. Thus, below, I have given a table with the most common languages that have Duolingo match madness challenges in them-
An interesting thing that happened to me once was I got a match madness challenge in one week for Swedish but in the next week, there was no such challenge. I guess it was just randomly added to the course. As Duolingo keeps updating its courses, you may get them for other courses in the future.
How does the Duolingo Match Madness work?
Even after knowing how to beat it, you may still be confused about how it works. Thus, here are the points you must remember while participating in Duolingo match madness-
